THe RokeCHI Japan

ようこそ!外国人TVクルー Theロケ地Japan!

Welcome! International TV Crews! The RokeChi Japan!

Whilst GGSP were filming Japan, our production fixers, Ishitani Yoko and Murakami Mari, were contacted by KTV (Kansai Television Corporation) who asked to accompany us during our schedule. We met with the director, Wakiyama Kento & Oota Minoru, and assistant director, Nakajima Reina, who recorded behind-the-scenes footage for their one-off special called The RokeChi Japan. Hosted by famous Japanese comedians, Kendo Kobayashi and Miyagawa Daisuke, the program followed international film crews who were doing productions in Japan with GGSP kicking off their 30-minute special in mid-November 2018.

After GGSP returned from Japan, I helped organise assets and facilitated information about our show to the Japanese crew in both English and Japanese, including figuring out how our full names are written in Katakana- サニータ カンダーリックセー (Sanita Khandharixay, anyone?). As a Japanese learner at the time, there was nothing more exciting than receiving an email titled “Sanita様” or “Sanita-sama” - sama is an honourable and highly respectful suffix of “Mr/Mrs/Miss/Mx” towards people. Or if you’re a bit of a weeb like me, it also sounds cool.
