Good Game: Spawn Point
Researcher
2021 - 2022
Researcher on Good Game: Spawn Point or GGSP, a videogame show created for young gamers, by gamers!
The show currently airs on ABC Me and online via ABC iview, the ABC Me app, and online on the ABC Gamer YouTube channel. GGSP has a growing dynamic and engaging community presence and is the only videogame show for younger audiences on national television.
This role involved the development of a variety of scripts for the show, including gaming news, the weekly Ask SP, original content ideas, and gathering the appropriate footage or assets in relation to the piece. Also continued to assist with scheduling, onset production and pre-production for ABC Gamer.
My contributions to the show up until 2022, included:
Season 12, Episode 03 - captured game footage and wrote the review for Call of the Sea
Season 12, Episode 06 - wrote the gaming news and the standalone piece, How to Learn A Language with Games
Season 12, Episode 08 - planned the set design to celebrate Easter, and wrote and produced the segment, Games That Can Teach You Programming
Season 12, Episode 13 - directed and produced the episode as both producers were unwell
Season 12, Episode 28 - wrote and produced the segment Boss Strats: How to Tackle Tough Bosses, my first segment to be featured after being on a break
Season 12, Episode 29 - wrote and produced the segment Level Up: How to Tackle Tough Games, a follow up to Boss Strats
I also maintained the GGSP website, using a WCMS program called CoreMedia to update each webpage, and using FileZilla to upload the segments. And of course, I created a number of thumbnails displayed on the website and on the YouTube Channel.
Production Coordinator
2017 - 2020
Former Production Coordinator
A typical week involved planning schedules weeks to months in advance, sending call sheets to cast and crew, creating props for special episodes, shooting production stills, designing thumbnails and images for social or web, planning budgets for interstate to international travel, or moderating comments and community management.
The coordinator role wasn’t limited to just administration, as I had the opportunity to step into producing roles: manning creative direction on the series The Apongalypse; spearheading a videogame inspired arts & crafts segment, Crafternoons; and coordinating a large-scale group production with a focus on security and safety at PAX Australia 2019.
Also check out these amazing international trips that I organised and helped budget on behalf of the team:

I had the chance to use some self-taught Japanese in coordinating both GGSP in Japan and the GGSP feature in The RokeChe Japan. I taught myself up to A2 and dabbled in B1.
