Alright, it’s becoming a pattern: another birthday, another tattoo… or two. I wasn’t intending to get a tattoo, but the more I looked at my leg, I realised, yes, I do want a tattoo.

I’m very happy to see that Hannah is still thriving at Wicked Ink, she’s becoming increasingly popular and in high demand for her fantastic designs. Although her pieces are getting larger, I still go in for small ones to decorate my leg. Plus, Wicked Ink Campbelltown is a delightful gem of a shop out in the Sydney suburbs. All the tattooists and reception team there has such a great bond so I do recommend paying them a visit.

I thought about getting something a little different when I booked with Jessie. She specialises in black and grey and fineline; a mother of two boys and a kickass tattooist who packs a punch. I’ve seen her do many anime pieces on her and Thirteen Feet Tattoo’s Instagram, so I decided I’d get a Bleach tattoo!

Hann drew a custom piece for me that was similar to one of her previous flash sheets. It was a cute froggy boy and a butterfly situated on top of a mushroom. It was a classic hanntats design and I was keen for it on my skin.

I started filling up my Instagram feed with tattooers whose aesthetic matched mine. I have been enjoying saturated colour tattoos and bold linework and I’m getting the itch for my own “patchwork sleeve”. I stumbled across hanntats, who’d only just begun her tattoo journey last year and did her first tattoo this year in March.

I’m one of those types of people who didn’t really think about what I envisioned to be tattooed on my body. My first tattoo was a simple quote and linework that I had done in a lovely tattoo shop on Sunset Boulevard, LA. The place was very clean and decorated with various flash sheets and artworks along the walls. I knew the place could be trusted. Once I got back to Australia, I knew I wanted more tattoos but I wasn’t sure what.
